Ukrainian Startups Demo Day was held in the building of the Warsaw Stock Exchange on December 9. During the event, 14 Ukrainian startups presented their projects. The main award in the amount 10 000 PLN went to the Biolity Robotics team. The event was organized by the team of the Polish-Ukrainian Startup Bridge (PUSB) project, which since 2018 has been supporting Ukrainian startups on the way to their development.
The best and brightest Ukrainian startups pitched at the main stage for 100+ participants and our judges: Christian Kumar (Capital Kinetics Limited), Roman Nikitov (ICU Ventures), Daria Yaniieva (Sigma Software Labs), Alexander Romanishyn (ISE Accelerator & Venture Capital Firm), and Krzysztof Grochowski (Simpact VC).

Startup competition
Ukrainian Startup Demo Day is an alternative event held in lieu of the annual Kyiv Tech Hub conference in Kyiv, which was unable to be organized due to Russia’s full-scale attack on Ukraine.
„Due to Russian aggression, our team was forced to change the format of the project. Because until February 24, all our activities took place in Ukraine. But despite everything, we managed to gather more than 30 Ukrainian startups at Demo Day in Warsaw. We will continue to support Ukrainian projects and show Polish and European investors that Ukraine is a promising country,” says Lukash Wawak, head of the PUSB project.
14 Ukrainian startups competed for the main prize of PLN 10,000 from the event partner ICU Ventures: Ninja Lender, Biolity Robotics, Mobility EU, Anna, Fruittorg, Phygit, Zeely, Getpin, Scalemate, 2Event, Stanpass, Recoshelf, IVR and Greenbin. The award went to the Biolity Robotics team, and the jury also noted the fantastic performance of the Zeely team.
Biolity Robotics has created an artificial intelligence-based algorithm that accelerates the process of micropropagation (a biological method for creating copies of deficient plants) by 200%.
„Laboratory Biolity Robotics was located near Pivdenmash in Dnipro. We managed to evacuate the equipment two days before Russian missiles hit the neighboring building. After such a successful evacuation, we have even more motivation to work and succeed. Currently, our laboratory is in Warsaw, and the team is working at the PUSB co-working space. Thanks to the project team for supporting Ukrainian startups,” shared his impressions of the competition, Evgeniy Naystetik, founder of Biolity Robotics.
In addition to the official pitching on the main stage, there were also B2B tables where investors and startups could interact. Representatives from ffVC, Simpact VC, Zubr Capital, Accelpoint, ICU Ventures, AIP Seed, EIT Food Seedbed Incubator, LT Capital, and Mindlab Ventures participated in the meetings.
„I am delighted that Ukrainian technical inventors continue their work despite all circumstances. For me, they are all winners, as is the sector as a whole. The resilience rate of Ukrainian IT is very high – 96% of businesses have survived this war. Not only have they survived, but they have also paid 20% more in taxes than last year and have participated in many campaigns and developments that help Ukraine move closer to victory. The IT army and technical thinking of our country are among the most powerful in the world. Thank you to the organizers for an event that reminds investors and the world of the strength and potential of Ukrainian engineers,” commented Roman Nikitov, Chairman of ICU Ventures.
More than 100 participants took part in the event, including Ukrainian startups, venture funds, accelerators, journalists, and partners of the Polish-Ukrainian Startup Bridge, who support Ukrainian projects and Ukraine as a whole. You can watch the participants’ performances at the following link.
The event was organized with the support of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, ICU Ventures, the Foundation for Cooperation Fund, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy of Poland, and Polish Aid.
