More than 50 young entrepreneurs representing 25 startups participated in a 2-day acceleration bootcamp organized by Polish-Ukrainian Startup Bridge on 14-15th September 2019 in Kyiv. It was the final event and preparation before the Kyiv Tech Hub conference and the opportunity to fine-tune ideas and presentations by working and getting feedback from the group of experts.
During the first day, startup representatives participated in a series of workshops designed to provide them with information about business opportunities in Poland, managing startup finances, and key aspects of Polish and EU legal regulations, all being important from innovative ventures’ perspective.
The first day started with the “Business in Poland” presentation and discussion led by Paweł Kaczmarczyk from New Open Way Advisory, followed by the “Startup Finance – Investor’s View” session led by Sebastian Goschorski, Partner in RSM Poland. The final session, delivered by lawyers. Gabriela Bar (Szostek_Bar and Partners, Wrocław) and Roman Bieda (Maruta Wachta), covered legal aspects and regulations of running business in Poland and the EU.
Day two was dedicated to workshops and fine-tuning startup stories, as well as the way in which they will be delivered. That was the time to gain valuable experience and practice before going on stage in Kyiv on 3rd October. Participants took part in training how to pitch creative ideas conducted by Ralph Talmont – entrepreneur, speaker and communication consultant and in 1:1 mentorship sessions with Piotr Pągowski from Solwit, Łukasz Kowalik from Simpact VC, as well as Alexander Romanishyn, founder of open innovation platform REACTOR and Elena Malitskaya, investment and finance executive with over 15 years of experience, from an investment bank to IT and e-commerce organizations.
It was an engaging and fruitful event with a lot of valuable content, practical pitching training, and numerous formal and informal discussions. Now it is time to refine the presentations, decks, and pitches. The next stop is KTH 2019.
